Learning & Conversation

Come and be part of the conversation

Rabbi David studying

Torah does not hand us answers. It hands us better questions — and the company to wrestle them with.

Torah Study

The weekly portion is a chance to engage the wisdom of Judaism in personal ways. We explore the parsha and ask it — and ourselves — what it demands of us now. We challenge Torah, and Torah challenges us.

Introduction to Judaism

Taught with local synagogues, for adult seekers drawn to the broader questions that make Judaism a living, modern path. We read and discuss, and we learn by doing — a visit to a mikveh, a Shabbat dinner around a table.

Individual Study — Chevruta

Personal, one-to-one study on whatever is drawing you in. Tell me what you’re wrestling with and we’ll design a study that fits it.

The Parent & Adult-Child Relationship

The bond between parents and their grown children is uniquely complex. As roles shift and needs grow more acute, the ability to speak honestly matters more than ever. Using Jewish wisdom, I help create the space where those conversations can happen.

Bereavement Groups

How do we carry the loss of someone we love? Grief often eases when we speak it aloud, especially among others who know the terrain. I lead small groups — small enough that we can truly share — guided by how Jewish wisdom moves us through and forward.

Scholar-in-Residence & Classes

I bring teaching to congregations and communities — a single session or a weekend as scholar-in-residence. Recent themes include the Ethical Legacy Will and the art of drawing out the stories that make a life. Let’s build something for your community.

“For the past two months I looked forward to Sunday mornings. You have given me many things to think about.” — a class participant
