Learning and Conversation

Bereavement

BereavementHow do we cope with the loss of someone we love? Dealing with our loss can often be made easier when we talk about it, especially among those who have similar experience. I lead bereavement groups to talk about issues surrounding loss and how Jewish wisdom guides us through and moves us forward.  We keep the groups small enough that we can share.

The Parent/Adult Child
Relationship

intergenerationHands

Conversations between Parents and their Adult Children about filial responsibility and understanding each other.

The relationship of parents and adult children are particularly complex. Changes in roles are complicated by our own self-perceptions and how we have traditionally interacted with each other. But as needs change and often become more acute, the ability to talk to each other is more important than ever. Using Jewish wisdom and insights, I can help you in creating space for these conversations to take place. Torah

Torah Study

The weekly Torah portion is a chance to engage the wisdom of Judaism in personal ways. We will explore the Torah portion and ask it and ourselves about the contemporary lessons Torah shares. We will challenge Torah and Torah will challenge us. Come and be a part of the conversation.

Introduction to Judaism

jewishstarI teach Introduction to Judaism with local synagogues.   My approach is to engage adult seekers with the broader issues and questions that make Judaism a modern and vibrant approach to living a meaningful life. We will use texts and readings to learn and engage in discussion. As part of our time together, we will engage in experiential learning including things like a visit to a Mikveh and Shabbat dinner.
